Recognized as an official municipality in 1840, our region is one of the most enchanting in the Lower Laurentians. The residents of Gore are as diversified as the scenery. The exceptional beauty of this region, first colonized about 175 years ago by Irish immigrants, has since captivated many generations of people who built summer homes here to have a chance to escape the city and unwind in a relaxing pastoral environment.

For many years, the beauty of our vast territory, our wealth of lakes, waterways and forests have persuaded a growing number of people to build permanent or second homes here. Many newcomers come to Gore to retire, whereas their children chose to live here permanently to raise their families and their children, and in turn will carry on our values and respect for our precious environment.

We invite all those who love nature and outdoor sports to come and discover the Municipality of the Township of Gore:  A natural paradise!
