Pursuant to section 15 of the Act respecting ethics and conduct in municipal matters (CQLR, c. E‑15.1), all newly elected officials, as well as those re-elected to the municipal council, are required to complete training on ethics and good conduct in municipal matters within six (6) months following the start of their term of office.
The purpose of this training is to encourage ethical reflection in a municipal context, to promote adherence to the values set out in the municipality’s Code of Ethics and Good Conduct, and to develop the skills necessary to understand and comply with the rules established therein. The training also addresses the role and responsibilities of municipal elected officials.
